History of Bio Gas 

In the 17th century, it was founded by a chemist that flammable gases could be evolved from the decomposition of organic matters. And the first bio-gas plant was installed in 1859 at Bombay, India. How Bio Gas is made?

Bio gas cannot be directly produced with just one raw material or in an open space. A well-structured bio-gas plant is required for the production of bio gas. Different types of wastes from agricultural fields, livestock, foods, and Sewage sludge are added to Anaerobic Digester, where the particles are decomposed in an oxygen-free environment. The methanobacteria present in the organic matter convert the wastes into bio gas and other solid mixtures. 
Bio Gas process

The byproducts from the Bio gas plant such as bio gas is used as fuel for the kitchen and electricity. Further by removing Co2 and other gases bio-gas is converted to bio methane which can be used as a vehicle fuel. 

The slurry or digestate which is the remaining part after the production of bio gas can be used for fertilizer, soil amendment, and cattle bedding purposes. Simultaneously sewage treatment plants also takes place in many textile industries.
