Tips for Working from Home
Some things are becoming the new normal in these tough times. The pandemic and the lockdown situation have called for the state of working from home for many of you.
It may seem a relatively new concept! Work from home may seem to be fun; you get to spend time with your family and loved ones. The question is, are you productive? Not to worry guys as we are here with few tips that can make working from home fun and fruitful.
Build a Morning Routine
The morning routine is important because, if followed regularly it helps you to do a set of things and be at your workspace in time and start your work. The routine can be a jog, a walk, exercising, or just preparing for the day ahead. It gives you the motivation and makes you concentrate on the go. It can be as simple as making your coffee or wearing your work pyjamas! Speaking of which, if you want to try Classic Polo's innovative Work from home apparel, check here.
Schedule & Take breaks
Working from home can invite more distractions. Scheduling your work time is essential as it should not be affected wherever you are. A scheduler or a calendar can serve the purpose. Similarly, assigning a definite time to a task is crucial. Some apps can help you get in track and measure results like screen time.
As scheduling goes, the next step for optimum productivity is to take breaks. Take some time off to relax, maybe a stretch, a little walk, listening to music. It should not be too long as getting back to tasks can be difficult. Ideally, for every hour you spend working, take a short break somewhere between 5-10 minutes.
Have a dedicated Workspace
In the office, you might have a happy place - your desk! This is your 'no-distraction', 'work mode on' space. At home, the scenario is different. You might find it difficult to allocate a separate area for yourself. Whatever the place you get, try to be comfortable and get used to it as fast as you can.
Set some rules for your family members as not to disturb you. You can always interact with them during your scheduled break. Get all the necessary technology needed to work seamlessly without any interference. Choose the table and chairs which are perfect for you and not too comfy.
Stay hydrated & eat healthily
Sitting at the same place for longer periods can accumulate heat, and it is not good for your health. Keep water bottles near you, and make it a practice to fill them yourself. This puts you in the habit of getting up at regular intervals and not sit for long hours in one place.
Make sure to include fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. As you are in your home, it is always feasible to prepare healthy food yourself. Stay away from ordering foods online.
Working from home comes with perks, but it should be in such a way to utilize the time to perfection and be productive. Let us know how work from home is treating you and share with us your experience in the comments below!
